The Government College University, Lahore Debating Society has won the All Pakistan Declamation Trophy at the PAF Academy Risalpur. As many as 44 universities, schools and colleges competed for the coveted trophy in one of the biggest national declamation contests.

Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rahman congratulated Zahid Ali for being adjudicated the Best Urdu speaker of the contest and Khawaja Yasin Mudassir for winning the Best English Humorous Speaker Award. The Vice Chancellor said the GCUDS was emerging as the best national debating team of Pakistan as, besides other prestigious debates, it had also won record 27 positions in the Chief Minister's Debates Contest.
